If you stay in Ghent and your accommodation or host offers bikes then you can easily reach the Ghent festivities with the bicycle. In Ghent, you can rent a bike from Donkey Republic or Bolt. You can also rent a bike with De Fietsambassade or use Bluebike.
BICYCLE PARKING STATIONS
Always wanted to park you bike at an underground parking station? This year, you can safely leave your bike at the guarded bicycle parking facility on -1 or -2 of the Sint-Michiels car park, entrance via Onderbergen.
Or leave your bike in our other guarded bicycle parking facilities at Sint-Lievenscollege (entrance via Volmolenstraat) or at Bisdomplein (Maaseikstraat).
Unguarded bicycle parking facilities can be found at: Sint-Jorisbrug, Reep, Minnemeers, Coyendanspark, Kouter, Universiteitstraat, Sint-Jacobsnieuwstraat, Steendam, François Laurentplein, Oudburg and Drabstraat.
Pay attention: The bicycle parking stations underneath the City Pavilion and St Michael’s Bridge are closed during the Ghent Festivities.
Tip
There are roadblocks (yellow barriers and gateways) at various locations within the Ghent Festivities zone. Do not park your bicycle at such a location, because any bikes will be removed. Bicycles whose lock has been cut (by the fire brigade or Fietsambassade) will be taken to the secure bicycle shed in Volmolenstraat, and stored in the Bicycle Depot after the Ghent Festivities.
